The learner should be able to:
- Clarify and assume their role within the healthcare team, integrating the initial assessment and regular reassessment of the patient using the ABCDE protocol.
- Understand and apply essential ethical values towards other members of the healthcare team, as well as towards the patient and their family.
- Use the SBAR technique (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) and Closed-Loop Communication techniques to ensure effective inter- and intra-team communication.
- Collaborate efficiently with other members of the healthcare team, integrating each member’s skills to stabilize the patient.
Program details
A 35-year-old man/woman, victim of a road traffic accident (RTA), is brought to the emergency department by a relative in a private car. The patient presents with multiple visible injuries and potential signs of internal lesions, requiring urgent and multidisciplinary management.
