Biography
Prof. Mamoun Ben Cheikh is a Professor of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis, specializing in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care. He was also the coordinator of the project to implement medical simulation at the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis, which began in 2006.
He participated in various large animal simulation workshops at the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis, in fields such as laparoscopy, laparoscopic surgery, and microsurgery.
Prof. Ben Cheikh has completed several training courses with the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), including:
• The use of social media in digital education development
• The use of Moodle for digitalizing courses
• The use of Opal for course digitization
He also completed digital education training at the Faculty of Medicine of Lille and led a workshop on medical writing at the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis.
He has coordinated the simulation implementation project at the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis since 2006, following an audit of theoretical, practical, and experimental teaching resources. This initiative required the introduction of simulation as a means to strengthen medical education. Several options were considered, ultimately leading to the acquisition of a high-fidelity simulator designed to benefit students across multiple disciplines.

• Laparoscopy, where trainees learn procedures such as suturing and organ dissection using simulators acquired by the faculty
