Biography
Ms. Zarray is a PPM and Medical Simulation Trainer. She has 39 years of experience in healthcare, of which 17 years have been as a Midwife and 22 years as a paramedic teacher.
She began her career as an Advanced Technician in Obstetrics-Midwifery and went on to become a paramedical professor. Early in her career as a paramedical professor, she taught basic care modules for first year students from all paramedical sections and modules of ‘Obstetric Practices’ for students in the 2nd and 3rd year Obstetrics. The pedagogy of these modules is based mainly on the practical work of basic techniques and techniques specific to Obstetrics. For these, the varied teaching material has always been oriented solely towards the understanding of procedural gestures dedicated to a part of the body. In terms of teaching well-being and changing behaviour, especially in crisis situations, case studies and role-playing have always been used.
She was also responsible for the development of practical work plans, and assessment grids for Obstetrics students, drawing up the training books for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year Obstetrics students. She was also a member of the National Health Sector Committee at the Ministry of Higher Education and scientific research from the 2010/2011 academic year to 2016/2017. During that time, she was responsible for the draw team for the exams of the 3 sessions of the academic year at the Tunis Superior School of Health Sciences and Technologies. She was also the consultant appointed by the UNFPA in collaboration with the ONFP to train trainers in the field of safe childbirth in Libya in 2016.
She participated in the Master Class training in medical simulation organized at the Institute of Health Trades in Tunis. She recently joined the teaching team of the obstetrics section at the paramedical school of the Central University and in 2018, took up the position of a medical simulation trainer at the Medical Simulation Center for the Obstetrics section. The scenarios developed using a high-fidelity mannequin so far have been well appreciated by the students of the 3rd year who felt a great need for other scenarios because in this specialty, the midwife is most often faced with critical and unpredictable emergencies without having the opportunity to confront her during her initial training. She has conducted 10 simulation sessions that has helped the students modify their non-technical (behavioural & managerial) skills and thus improve their technical skills in a crisis situation. Given the impact of the simulation on the skill improvement of students, she aims to integrate simulation training into the initial training course.
