The Medical Simulation Center offers only one type of simulation:
- High and low fidelity patient simulators
Patient simulators are very realistic life-size mannequins (adult, child, infant). Approximately sophisticated, they can be controlled by a computer and have the ability to breathe, speak, and respond to stimuli during interventions (high fidelity mannequins). Mannequins obey a predetermined scenario; the supervisor can vary their vital signs and their clinical condition. Contextualized in an operating room or intensive care unit, the clinical situations most often experienced in a teamwork are extremely close to reality. - Procedural simulators
Procedural simulators allow learning through the repetition of gestures in a most often-technical procedure and this without risk to the patient. This type of simulator covers a wide range of procedures: intubation head, bronchial system of endoscopy, infusion arm, usual surgical procedures such as different types of sutures and digestive and vascular anastomoses. The simplest forms of surgical simulators are made up, for example a box hiding direct vision (pelvic trainer), integrating or not a camera, and allowing to perform various exercises (grasp, suture, dissection with scissors) currents in laparoscopy.
